a three-day affair: when it all began..

We’ve talked and we’ve come to a compromise. This is going to happen regardless of all the obstacles blocking our way. By hook or by crook, it will.

We started out with sheer bliss and excitement expressed by the way our eyes shone as we entered the building’s huge lobby. We did not approach anybody in fear of them knowing this is our first time. We walked on straight oblivious to the people around us. “This is it.” we told ourselves. We were finally doing it. We finally came to the section where we need to check in…and we did..

We checked in our bags. ;) For the first time in our lives, we were able to travel outside Cebu, together. We had small talks on the plane with irrelevant and unnecessary topics yet still memorable. Mona had a little problem on the plane (yan kasi, first time eh. hehe).

We got to Manila past 12 midnight, went straight to videoke (with Lippie taking the spotlight with her turn around..evry now and then lyrics and vocal foreplay as she likes to call it..hehehe) and played billiard. We finally went home around 5:30am, unpacked, went to bed around 6-6:30am, got up 7:00 am. Whoa! For real?! For real. The agenda for the 1st day was to go to divisoria for the ultimate shopping and in order for us to get a free ride we had to be ready that early. We slept on the way there, hard as it may be.

Ultimate is an understatement. Stalls after stalls after neverending stalls of shirts, jeans, bags, shoes and acccessories. Its amazing how you can still figure your way out. It’s even more amazing how we managed to buy the things we want and found our way out. We got back to Makati around 5pm but wasn’t contented yet. We went to my sister’s fave store. Mind you, we walked, our hands very very full with all the plastic shopping bags! She said it was just a block away. What block!? It seemed as though we walked the entire city!

By the time we got home, we were so tired our knees were shaking. We got home, changed and went to Tiananmen for a sumptuous dinner. This marks our 48-hour state of being awake.

My sister had to go somewhere which left us to ourselves, naive and lost in the big city. We were only able to say a few words from then on. “Manong, JP Rizal po sa may munisipyo” (lippie’s fave line) as we told the cab driver. And then there was silence. We got home and we slept. oh glorious sleep! :)

Did i mention one little thing? Whoever said you needed to take a bath every single day? We weren’t able to for that particular day but it worked just the same for us. Ha! Who are u kidding? hehehe The feeling was indeed weird and uncomfy but choice, that we did not have.

4 days. I’m keeping count. Just four more days to glorious freedom and to a whole new adventure.

On Thursday, we’ll be flying off to Manila for the weekend together with 2 of my friends (it’ll even be better if we were complete). This would probably be the first time that we’re going somewhere far away from Cebu. Is Manila considered far away when its just an hours travel? For us, it already is.

But its only four days? So? It’ll be four days of sheer excitement and fun anyway. Besides, its the only amount of time we could spare in our fast-paced career. Huh? What career? In short, our bosses would definitely have a fit if we’re not back by Monday!

I’m looking forward to our late-night talks when the rest of the world is asleep; to laughing at ourselves as we go about our way, oblivious and ignorant to where’s where or how to get to “where”; to eating in places we could never find in cebu. Simply put, I’m looking forward to having fun. I could finally watch tv and sleep as late as I want to. Yipee for me!

The best part? Shopping. Right! It’ll be a long long walk, stroll, whatever you may want to call it, in search of the perfect gifts in time for the holidays, to hunt for cute yet comfy tops, eye-catching bags and clutches and one-of-a-kind shoes. We shall rummage every shelf and rack and we shant leave any untouched! <insert evil grin> Ofcourse, we have our work cut out for us since we are aiming for affordable above-mentioned items. Ready your slippers (that would be sandals for one of my friends) gurls! Clothes, shoes, bags and getting lost, here we come! :)

All in a day..

You start out fresh, you start out clean.
You start out with a smile on your face.
You get excited to meet your friends and talk about anything exciting. It’s as if you werent able to see and talk to each other the previous day. You always get to talk about the same topic yet still enjoy every minute of it.
You go about your daily task and somewhere in the middle of it all, something goes off. Then your day begins to liven up. (Notice the sarcasm)
You begin to frantic.
You begin to search for ways to end your dilemma.
You ask for help, you panic.
If you’re lucky, your mishap would turn out to be just a minor mistake for your boss.
If you’re way more than lucky, you get to solve your problem.
Sometimes, people will annoy and irritate you. Some will test your patience. Some just wants to piss you off.
Some may even get to your nerves so bad; your whole day becomes a living hell.
But more often than not, there will always be persons who will make you laugh and ‘ll lighten your day. These are those you cling to for sanity whenever you’re about to lose it. You even have a seatmate that cries in the middle of work. Huh? Oh she’s reading her all-too-famous frictionpress stories.

At exactly 5, you get excited.
You do the usual routine after work, either go to the mall or eat out.
But then, you linger at the office more than you need to. And you ask yourself why.
Oh, you have an “executive” friend still doing a hundred reports. Thats why. ;p
Yet you all wait, knowing the other would do just the same if the situations switched. :)

You go home watching the drama series marathon on TV simply because you have no choice. The control (literally) is not in your hands and you’re on the phone. You hear your mom screaming for you to get off the phone and go to sleep. How old am i again?

You end a good day with sweet nonsense, a blush and a smile plastered on your face. You turn out the lights and finally go to sleep.
Otherwise, you end a not-so-good day by turning out the lights and going to sleep.

It’s all in a day..
